MDT Professional Edition 4.0 is now available!

We’re thrilled to announce the release of MDT Professional Edition 4.0! This version introduces refactoring to Magik code development. We’re very proud of this achievement and will continue working on it in the foreseeable future.

Here's what's new:

  • Magik code refactoring actions
  • Improved Magik source editor hyperlink mechanism now supports opening the declaration of any declarable piece of Magik code
  • New search actions which allow searching Magik element declarations and their references
  • Magik Search feature has been extended to include references search
  • Compatibility with Eclipse 4.8 (Photon)

MDT SW5 Support Plug-in 1.2.1 released!

A new version of the MDT SW5 Support Plug-in has been released. The plugin has been adjusted to the latest versions of Smallworld 5 (up to 5.1.9) and Eclipse 4.8 (Photon). In addition to adjustment fixes, the local variables reading mechanism of SW5 debugger has also been improved. We are aware that the debugger needs further improvements and will be concentrating on this for the next release.

MDT Professional Edition 4.0 upcoming!

We're currently working on the next version of Magik Development Tools. The upcoming MDT Professional Edition 4.0 will include the following new features:

  • a refactoring action that allows renaming all occurrences of a chosen Magik element in the editor;
  • new actions that allow searching for all occurrences (references and/or declarations) of a Magik element in a file, module, project or workspace;
  • a refactoring action that allows renaming all or just a few matches of the occurrences search.

You will get a chance to see the new functionalities for yourself at the Smallworld User Group 2018 conference.

MDT 3.9 available!

This release of MDT Professional Edition includes new functionalities that will make your work with MDT even easier and more comfortable.

Some of the new features include:

  • a brand new Module Hierarchy view that allows you to display the hierarchy of a chosen module
  • a highly configurable content assist feature in Class Browser view
  • a new exclude public/private methods filtering commands in Class Browser view

Other major changes include:

  • compatibility with Eclipse 4.7
  • support for other color themes
  • many major & minor fixes
