MDT Professional Edition is a flexible, intuitive and standardized Integrated Development Environment (IDE) for GE Smallworld GIS developers. MDT provides many useful features for developers writing in Magik language. MDT is based on Eclipse Rich Client Platform (RCP) which enables wide use of already existing solutions and plug-ins. What should I download? If you are new to Eclipse download the product version. If you have some Eclipse-based environment download the plug-in version. What’s the difference between product version and plug-in version? Product version is MDT plug-in installed on Eclipse platform. Both versions have exactly the same functionalities. Plug-in version have to be added to existing Eclipse platform or to existing Eclipse-based environment such as Eclipse IDE for Java Developers or MyEclipse. If you are using MyEclipse, IMB Rational Team Concert or other environments based on Eclipse, please activate MDT on a fresh Eclipse platform and then add other plug-ins. These plug-ins interfere with MDT’s activation process. What is required to run MDT? You can run product version after unpacking the zip file and activating the license received from our eShop. Activation requires SSL connection. If you are using proxy you will have to set it properly in Eclipse. To run the plug-in version you have to install Eclipse 3.4 or 3.5 and EMF and have Java JRE 1.5.x, 1.6.0.4 or later installed. What’s new in version 1.1? Latest versions: Instructions for owners of 1.0 version: Update instructions Users that have version 1.0 installed should open Help > License Manager and use Update MDT. That will update the license and enable using version 1.1. Then you can download MDT update using Eclipse update mechanism. If you have already downloaded MDT 1.1 then you will see a message that the license is incompatible with the version of software. You should update the license using the same Help > License Manager > Update MDT Reinstalling MDT Users of version 1.0 have to install MDT 1.0 and then update it to the latest release. First update the license Help > License Manager > Update MDT and then update MDT. Other option is to make a backup copy of your license.xml file (updated to version 1.1) and then transfer the file to the new installation of MDT. Older versions:
