MDT Professional Edition Trial is a time-limited version of MDT Professional. Users of the trial version receive the same functionalities for a period of 30 days free of charge. We really encourage you to try it. What should I download? If you are new to Eclipse download the product version. If you have some Eclipse-based environment download the plug-in version. What’s the difference between product version and plug-in version? Product version is MDT plug-in installed on Eclipse platform. Both versions have exactly the same functionalities. Plug-in version have to be added to existing Eclipse platform or to existing Eclipse-based environment such as Eclipse IDE for Java Developers or MyEclipse. If you are using MyEclipse, IMB Rational Team Concert or other environments based on Eclipse, please activate MDT on a fresh Eclipse platform and then add other plug-ins. These plug-ins interfere with MDT’s activation process. How to activate trial? You will find step-by-step instructions in help. You should be able to use the trial license after the activation process. What is required to run MDT? You can run product version after unpacking the zip file and activating trial license. To run the plug-in version you have to install Eclipse 3.4 or 3.5 and EMF and have Java JRE 1.5.x, 1.6.0.4 or later installed. What’s new in version 1.1?
