Managing Licenses
Licensing
To fully benefit from MDT Professional Edition in Smallworld™ GIS application development it must be registered and activated.
There are several types of licenses provided with MDT Professional Edition:
- Trial License which is time limited license to use MDT Professional Edition. The license
may be activated only once on a particular computer and does not allow to access MDT upgrades.
- Single User License which allows you to install and use MDT Professional Edition on a single computer.
-
Portable License which allows you to install and use MDT Professional Edition on any computer
with the Hardware Key attached to it.
-
Floating License which enables a fixed number of users to simultaneously use MDT.
System uses a license server which is issuing a license to any client computer that requests one.
If the number of user requests exceeds the number of floating licenses purchased, a user will need to wait until one of the active
MDT users closes MDT on their computer so that the license is returned to the license server.
- Annual Maintenance License which provides free MDT Professional Edition
updates and free technical support for 1 year.
For more information refer to MDT website.
