Installing MDT from Internet

If you want to add MDT to you existing Eclipse installation you can install it directly from the internet. Before starting the installation process set up your Network Connections preferences to assure undisturbed access to the Internet. For off-line installation please refer to Installing MDT plug-in from local files task.

Installing MDT plug-in is the easiest way to extend exiting Eclipse environment with MDT features. If you prefer to work with separate, stand-alone MDT application please refer to Product installation guide.

Note: Installed MDT has to be unlocked by activating any of the available licenses.

Step 1

Open Eclipse.

Step 2

Start Install New Software tool.

Step 3

Select Add to enter new update site address.

Step 4

Set update site name to i.e. MDT Update Site and location to http://www.mdt.net/pe/updates. Press OK.

Step 5

Select Magik Development Tools to be installed and press Next.

Step 6

Install Details page shows features which will be installed. Press Next to install MDT.

Step 7

Read and accept MDT license agreement. Press Finish to proceed with the installation.

Step 8

Verify and accept MDT certificate.

Step 9

Restart MDT.
