GIS console is an interactive view. While session is started, the console is open for that session and can be used to enter commands which will be executed by the virtual machine and results will be shown in the console.
Each session maintains history of previously executed commands in a console. You can easily reuse commands from history using ALT + Up/Down shortcuts to enter previous/next command in the console. Command history entries are also available in the Code Assist.
While entering commands you can use Code Assist invoked with CTRL + Space shortcut. Code Assist proposals are extended with commands previously executed in the console.
