On 4th-6th March 2009 ASTEC representatives will participate in 2009 Smallworld™ EMEAI Conference in Sorrento, Italy. During the conference ASTEC will run a presentation on 5th March (Thursday) entitled 'Smallworld™ applications development - unlocking the potential and maximizing the benefits by means of MDT' at 4:50 pm and a workshop entitled ‘MDT Professional Edition – Magik Wand in Your Hands’ on 6th March (Friday) at 2:00 pm. Both the presentation and the workshop will concern new functionalities of MDT Professional Edition 1.0.0 M4 like Magik debugger, enhanced Magik code browsing possibilities and enhanced Magik editor Code Assist, etc. We are looking forward to seeing you and invite you to visit our booth and get familiar with our services and products at Smallworld™ EMEAI Conference.

Right now two MDT versions are available: - MDT 1.0.0 Standard Edition (SE) - it is cost-free and may be used for commercial and non-commercial purposes,
- MDT 1.0.0 Professional Edition (PE) - is also cost-free, but the license is time-limited and valid till August 4th, 2009. The last cost-free PE version will be published in April 2009, and the license will also be valid till August 4th, 2009.
On June, 2009 ASTEC plans to start selling MDT Professional Edition for commercial purposes. We also plan to offer other services such as: installation and integration, trainings, individual adaptations etc. A detailed price list will be published on May 2009. You can also meet our MDT Team and learn more about MDT during EMEAI conference at Sorrento, Italy on March 4th-6th, 2009 and at SWUG conference in Magdeburg, Germany on May 26th-28th, 2009.

On 15.11.2008 in the IBM office in Krakow took place Eclipse DemoCamp. The idea of Eclipse DemoCamps is to give the opportunity to present Eclipse technology and solutions (read more here). More than 50 participants took part in this meeting. The ASTEC company was represented by Dariusz Michura and Bartlomiej Laczkowski. They presented Magik Development Tools within Lightning talks and met with big interest of all attendees. During the meeting our representatives had also occasion to meet many interesting people involved in Eclipse development and Eclipse enthusiasts. Thank you all for spending good time.

The Magik Development Tools 1.0.0 Professional Edition Milestone 3 contains most expected by Magik developers debugger for Smallworld™ GIS applications. The debugger provides all standard debugging functionalities including the ability to: - suspend and resume program execution at breakpoint,
- perform program execution step by step,
- inspect variables and values.
The debugger is completely integrated with the MDT environment. Do not worry about starting new modules; copy and paste of code. Just add breakpoint and run GIS session that you want. Please consult MDT help What's New page for more information about using the Magik Debugger.

The release of Magik Development Tools 1.0.0 Professional Edition Milestone 3 is now available for immediate download and installation. The release key features are: Magik Debugger, enhanced Magik code browsing possibilities and enhanced Magik editor Code Assist. Please review changes list and What’s new page for more information. The release works with Eclipse 3.4.x.
