 error while installing MDT - 2009/12/18 09:53 hi,
actually when i am installing MDT , an error "Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be found.
Software being installed: Magik Development Tools 1.0.0.PE-20091016-1544 (pl.com.astec.mdt.feature.group 1.0.0.PE-20091016-1544)
Missing requirement: Magik Development Tools 1.0.0.PE-20091016-1544 (pl.com.astec.mdt.feature.group 1.0.0.PE-20091016-1544) requires 'org.eclipse.emf.common.ui 0.0.0' but it could not be found"

occured due to which my installation stopped can you please suggest me what could be the reason fort his.

I suppose that you did not configure your network connections settings for Eclipse. During installation of the MDT, some additional plug-ins are being downloaded from its remote update sites (i.e. EMF). If you are using some proxy to connect then you have to specify its settings in Window -> Preferences -> General -> Network Connections preference page.
