shortcuts - 2009/12/11 09:18 Hello,

how can i implement my own shortcuts? -
i want to do the following e.g.
v << gis_program_manager.databases[]
app << smallworld_product.applications.as_simple_vector[1]
pp => print(!)
ppp => print(!!)
dp => debug_print(!)
dpp => debug_print(!!)

as it seems i can't create new keys (which would be the greatest)

=> i've tried to use templates with the checkmark for automatically insert as on, but it doesn't insert them except for doing 2x Ctrl-Space then selecting with the mouse. I would expect and it would be great to do:

app Ctrl-Space

and have the text appear.

The context type selector is also undocumented (as well as the auto-insert feature)

Thanks,

Martin

Re:shortcuts - 2009/12/11 15:36 Hello Martin,

If you want the template to insert automtically you have to:

  • check automatic insertion on

  • disable Indexed Methods in code assist

  • use unambiguous name of the template

If you have more than one then the list will be presented to you. This also includes any exemplars in image or other templates. So the templates names must be unique.

If you would like to have more powreful templates you could try using AutoHotKey and its hotstrings.

Re:shortcuts - 2009/12/15 14:29 hello,

it doesn't work:
i've called the template appxxx, auto-insert is on, indexed methods (?) are off.

i've tried appxxx Ctrl-Space on the console and also appxxx.appxxx within code editor. Class Browser opens with suggestions for [,] - Templates are on the second page and i can't seem effectively move them to the first one in Content Assist Cycling. Neither have the text inserted automatically.

Thanks,

Martin
